The No. 17 Nationally Ranked Dillard Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Program Has Strong First Day at the 2022 NAIA Track & Field Championships
Gulf Shores, Alabama - The No. 17 nationally ranked Dillard's women's outdoor track and field saw one individual participant qualify for the finals of an event on the first day of the 2022 NAIA Track & Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama at Mickey Blackwell Stadium on Wednesday, May 25.
Kevell Byrd placed sixth overall in the 200m with a 24.29. She placed second in the second heat to advance to the finals of the event on Friday, May 27, at 5:10 p.m.
Byrd was also part of the 4x100 relay group along with Ta'Nijal Matthews, Rachel Rowe and Ryan Smith that placed 39th overall in their event with a 1:02.42.
Weather delayed the long jump competition for Rowe to Friday, May 27, at 11 a.m.
Next, Dillard's women's program continues competing on the second day of the competition on May 26. The events on the second day that include DU's women's team are the 100m trials (Kevell Byrd) at 4:20 p.m., the 400m trials (Kevell Byrd) at 5 p.m., the women's triple jump (Rachel Rowe, Leila Walton) at 5:30 p.m. and the 4x400m relays (Kevell Byrd, Ryan Smith, Karmyn Dotson, Ta'Nijal Matthews) at 9:15 p.m.
