Stillman Boots Dillard out of the HBCUAC Baseball Championship
LITTLE ROCK (May 2,2025) - In an electrifying baseball matchup at Dickey Stephens Park, Stillman College emerged victorious over Dillard University (LA) with a final score of 14-8 on May 2, 2025. This high-scoring affair featured a blend of solid hitting, strategic plays, and defensive errors from both teams, keeping fans engaged throughout the afternoon.
The game commenced with an early lead for Dillard when Braylon Guerin scored off a sacrifice fly by Derrald Moore, Jr. in the first inning. However, Stillman quickly responded with T. Davis driving in D. Kelly to tie the game.
Stillman's offense erupted in the third inning, scoring four runs, thanks to timely hits from T. Davis and D. Wilkins, coupled with a key balk by Dillard's pitcher. The onslaught continued in the fourth inning, adding another four runs, capitalizing on Dillard's defensive miscues, including errors and an unearned run.
Dillard mounted a comeback in the fourth and sixth innings, driven by Gustavo Torrealba and Angel Polanco, reducing the deficit to two runs at one point. Yet, Stillman's relentless offense, led by D.
