Karlise Davison, freshman, breaks school record
NEW ORLEANS– Freshman Karlise Davison made a remarkable debut in her first collegiate meet by breaking the school record in the 4k event. The record was previously held by Jaelynn Hoffman, she finished the 4k with a time of 17:55. Davison finshed with a time of 17:23.
Her determination and hard work throughout the training season has paid off early on, showcasing her talent and commitment to the sport. Because of her strong performance, the freshman earned women's cross country runner and freshman of the week.
Karlise's success was further highlighted by her strong support from teammates who also performed well. Nhadyia Flowers, freshman, finished close behind with a time of 18:22, demonstrating her potential as a competitive runner. Other teammates, including Naziyia Hawkins freshmen, and Kennedy Timmons, senior, contributed solid performances.
The team's overall performance reflects a positive start to the season. With Caitlyn Gordon clocking in at 22:05 and Tarajah Horn and Tatiana Clay showing improvements, it seems that the entire squad is on the rise. Together, they embody the unity and determination needed to strengthen the program, proving that with teamwork and perseverance, they can achieve great things.
