NEW ORLEANS (October 27, 2025)– In an intense showdown at Dent Hall, the William Carey Crusaders secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the Dillard Bleu Devils in women's volleyball. The match, which unfolded in front of a spirited crowd of 200, showcased the Crusaders' resilience and strategic prowess.
William Carey quickly set the tone by winning the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-20, respectively. Displaying formidable attacking efficiency with hitting percentages of .306 and .314, the Crusaders controlled the court early on. Dillard, however, rallied in the third set, exploiting William Carey's drop in offensive effectiveness to claim a 25-20 win, keeping their hopes alive.
In a tightly contested fourth set, William Carey edged out their opponents 25-22, sealing the match 3-1. This victory brought their overall record to 18-11, while Dillard fell to 15-8.
For William Carey, Natalie Bartholomew led the charge with 13 kills, contributing significantly to their offensive efforts.
