Dillard Women's Outdoor Track & Field Named 2026 HBCUAC Champions
SHREVEPORT, LA – May 1, 2026 — The Dillard University women's track & field team turned in a powerful and well-rounded performance at the 2026 HBCUAC Outdoor Championships, capturing multiple event titles, dominating the relays, and showcasing depth across all event groups.
Senior standout Tori Burton led the charge with a conference title in the 100 meters (11.96) and a runner-up finish in the 200 meters (24.92). Burton also played a key role in both championship relays, helping Dillard secure victories in the 4x100m relay (46.47) and 4x400m relay (4:03.34).
Sophomore Laila Johnson delivered a breakout performance, sweeping the hurdles with wins in the 100m hurdles (15.52) and 400m hurdles (1:07.64). She also contributed on both winning relay teams, capping off one of the most impressive all-around performances of the meet.
Freshman Karlise Davison continued her standout season by claiming the 800m title (2:30.33), while also adding points in the 400 meters. Fellow freshman Tatiana Clay scored in multiple events, including a third-place finish in the long jump (5.00m), and contributed to both relay victories.
Senior T-Anna Dawkins added valuable points with a second-place finish in the 400m (57.28) and a fourth-place finish in the 200m, while also running on the victorious 4x100m relay.
In the hurdles, senior Trinity Marshall secured a runner-up finish in the 100m hurdles (16.20) and added a third-place finish in the javelin (24.32m), contributing across multiple disciplines. Freshman Raniyah Gross also scored in the 100m hurdles with a sixth-place finish.
Distance standout Nhaydia Flowers scored key points with a third-place finish in the 5000m (22:42.07) and a fifth-place finish in the 1500m, while Kennedy Timmons added scoring performances in both events.
In the field events, Lauren Hall contributed with fifth-place finishes in both the hammer throw and shot put, while Darnee Williams added points in the hammer throw, javelin, and long jump, highlighting Dillard's depth in the field.
The Lady Bleu Devils also earned a second-place finish in the 4x800m relay (10:46.49), closing out a dominant showing across sprint, hurdle, distance, relay, and field events.
As a team, Dillard captured the 2026 HBCUAC Outdoor Championship title, totaling 189.5 points to finish ahead of Talladega (154) and Huston-Tillotson (74). The Lady Bleu Devils used multiple event titles, dominant relay performances, and scoring contributions across the roster to secure the conference crown.
