Dillard Knocks Off Edward Waters College, 91-74

NEW ORLEANS (DU) - Joshua Simmons nearly finished with a triple-double to lead Dillard to a 91-74 victory against Edward Waters College Saturday eveing at the The Battelfield.
After dropping two close road games in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play, the Bleu Devils looked sharp in their first game at home in over a month. Dillard led from start to finish and was never really threatened by the Tigers. DU was solid on the defensive end only committing 13 fouls, while Edward Waters had 31.
All five starters scored in double-figures to help Dillard pick up its first win in league play. Jorori Coleman finished with a game-high 20 points and has scored 20 or more points in seven games this season. Forward Patrick Thompson and guard Quinton Jackson each pitched in 19 points each. Jackson also contributed six assists and six rebounds. Guard Kristopher Allmon was effective from behind the arc hitting 4-for-8 from three-point range and finishing with 18 points.
The Bleu Devils (10-8, 1-2) continue league play against crosstown rival Xavier (La.) Saturday, Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. The game will immediately follow the conclusion of the women's game.
