Joe Prisco was added to the Dillard University athletic department staff in the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Operations on Feb. 2, 2020.

He oversees the athletic communications/marketing department and also aids in the running of athletic event operations on the Dillard campus.

Prisco, a 16-year veteran of the field, was selected by the Dillard search committee after a national search.

"We are excited to have Joe join our team," Dr. Baker-Barnes stated. "He brings a wealth of experience that will enhance our communication/marketing efforts with new perspective that will not only help us promote our athletes but our teams and department as a whole."

"I'm really looking forward to this new chapter in my life," Prisco stated. "Dillard is a great institution. All the coaches and the staff I've met are enthusiastic about the school and I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of it all."

A native of Illinois, Prisco comes to New Orleans after most recently serving as the Assistant Media Relations Director at St. Cloud State (Minn.). During his time at St. Cloud State, Prisco oversaw the communications efforts for the sports of football, basketball, softball, volleyball, track & field and cross country while aiding with the sports of hockey, wrestling, golf and tennis plus general office duties.

Prior to his time at St. Cloud State, Prisco worked at East Carolina University (N.C.) as the Assistant Media Relations Director working with the sports of football, softball, cross country and track & field.

Before East Carolina, Prisco spent five years on staff as the Assistant Media Services Director at Campbell University (N.C.). Among his duties was working as the primary media contact with a football program that was restarted after a 50-year hiatus. He also worked during his time at Campbell with the sports of softball, swimming, track & field, cross country, tennis, baseball, volleyball and women's basketball at various points.

No stranger to the college athletics scene, Prisco has spent the better part of the last 15 years working at various institutions of higher education throughout the country with stops at Saint Xavier University (Ill.), Coastal Carolina (S.C.), Notre Dame (Ind.) and Northern Colorado.

Prisco completed both his undergraduate, Speech Communication, and master's degree, Sports Administration, from Eastern Illinois University
