Dillard University Athletic Department Inducts Inaugural Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society Members

NEW ORLEANS, LA-Dillard University Athletic Department joined Chi Alpha Sigma, a prestigious National College Athlete Honor Society, this year and recognizing 33 student athletes in April as part of its inaugural class.

"The Dillard University Athletics Department is pleased to be a part of Chi Alpha Sigma," stated Athletics Director Dr. Linda Bell "We are eager to acknowledge and honor our student-athletes' dedication to academic excellence."

Established in May 1996 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, the National College Athlete Honor Society recognizes outstanding academic achievement among student-athletes. Additionally, inductees are expected to exemplify good citizenship and moral character.

The induction ceremony was held Sunday, April 27, at 6:00 p.m. in Georgias Auditorium, located within the Professional Schools Building.

Dr. Bell further noted, "The average GPA of our 33 inductees this year is 3.745, reflecting their commitment, discipline, and pursuit of excellence both academically and athletically. Congratulations to this year's inductees!"

Induction into Chi Alpha Sigma offers numerous benefits, recognizing student-athletes' accomplishments throughout their lifetimes. Inductees gain access to scholarship and award opportunities, as well as internship openings and professional development initiatives. Chi Alpha Sigma has collaborated with Women Leaders in Sports, Jen Fry Talks, N4A, Gripper, and Return on Inclusion to create a distinctive career development program for inductees aspiring to careers in athletics, whether as coaches or administrators.
