MARION, INDIANA-The Dillard Lady Bleu Devils' 4x100-Meter Relay Team has reached the semi-finals of the 2011 NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marion, Indiana on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Women's Semi-Final 4x100-Meter Relay competition will began today, Friday, May 27th at 3:50p.m. Central Standard Time.

NEW ORLEANS, LA-The Dillard Lady Bleu Devils' 4x100-Meter Relay Team will compete in the 31st Annual Women's NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 26-28 at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, Indiana on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Lady Bleu Devil's relay team, ranked 17th nationally, fastest time this season was a 47.84. Lady Bleu Devils' Head Track and Field Coach Bobby Williams has high expectations of his team during the weekend's championships. "I would like us to finish as an All-American relay team, which is in the top six," said Coach Williams. "I anticipate us competing in the finals on Saturday."
Preliminary competition will began on Thursday, May 26th, while semi-final action will be on Friday, May 27th and the championship finals will be held on Saturday, May 28th. The Lady Bleu Devils' 4x100-Meter Relay Team consists of Sophomore Wanda Burks, Freshman Dominique Smith, Freshman Courtney Henry and Freshman Destinee Sowell. "Our chemistry has improved tremendously," said Coach Williams. "Earlier this year we used alternates, so this unit has been together for the last two months and I see the chemistry being there so I am aware of what this group is capable of accomplishing."
In individual competition, Lady Bleu Devil Courtney Henry will compete in the Women's 100-Meter Dash at the Track and Field Championships. Henry is ranked 25th in the nation in the NAIA. Her fastest time this season was a 12.11.
Baton Rouge, LA-The Dillard Lady Bleu Devils' Track and Field team finished off their season with a second place finish at the First Annual GCAC Track and Field Conference Championship in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The Lady Bleu Devils finished with 133 team points to Xavier University's 138.50 point total. The Lady Bleu Devils finished in the top five in 13 of the 26 total events at the conference meet. Dillard's 4x100-meter relay team, which has already qualified for the NAIA Track and Field Championships on May 26th, put on another strong performance, finishing first in Friday's competition with a time of 48.06. Lady Bleu Devil Courtney Henry, who has qualified individually in the 100 and 200-meter dash for the NAIA Track and Field Championships, won both races on Friday. Henry finished with a time of 12.39 in the 100-meter dash and a time 26.06 in the 200-meter race.
The Lady Bleu Devils finished second in the 4x400-meter relay competition with a time of 4:09.11. In field events, Lady Bleu Devil Monique Waiters finished 3rd in women's long jump competition with a distance of 4.94 meters. Sophomore Jonquil Griffin finished tied for 2nd place in the women's triple jump with a distance of 9.90 meters.
