Alma Mater: University of New Orleans
Bobby Williams, a native of New Orleans, La, begin working at Dillard
University in 2002 as an adjunct professor. After graduating from the
University in of New Orleans in 2004 with a Master's degree in Sport
Psychology, Williams assumed the position as head cross country coach in
August of 2005. Due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina,
the cross country program was discontinued. However, in August of 2009
Coach Williams returned to the Dillard family and re-assumed the
position as head cross country and track and field coach.
After just one year, Coach Williams let the men's track and field team
to a conference championship. In that same year, the women's track and
field team finished second in the conference and also qualified five
individuals for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships.
With new found success within the program, Coach Williams vowed to make
winning "a staple" of the track and field program. During the fall of
2011, Coach Williams led three athletes during the cross country season
to attain all-conference honors and national championship
qualifications. With a highly anticipated track and field season, Coach
Williams led his team to yet another GCAC championship in 2012. To top
off the year, he led his men's 4x4 relay and his women's 4x1 relay to
the NAIA National Championships in which they finished fourth and eighth
in the nation respectively.
