New Orleans native Jeremy Jones entered the Dillard family as men's assistant coach in fall of 2012. Coach Jones brings a vast knowledge of basketball to the program as he joins head coach Bernard Griffith’s staff. Jones gives much of his basketball credit to a couple of proven players who helped him as a young student in the game.
“Two of my mentors are former NBA player George ‘Treetop’ Johnson as well as Coach Walter Mebane. They not only helped me with the physical aspect of the game, but also the mental aspect of the game which can be equally as important.”
Jones has worked with the Washington Wizards as a basketball camp coach, player development coach on the AAU Circuit and also participated in an internship with the Wizards organization in sales and hospitality. After graduating from Hampton University, Jeremy interned with Nike US Basketball in the Brand Marketing department at the World Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
He has also worked many basketball camps including Georgetown University, Tulane University, Chris Paul Skills Camp and Nike All-American Camp in Beverton, Oregon.
Jones graduated from Hampton University in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management in 2010. He later earned a master’s in Sports Management from Georgetown University in Washington D.C in the summer of 2011.
