(New Orleans, La.) With eight seconds remaining in the ball game, the Lady Bleu Devils trailed by just two points on the road when Dillard's Alyssa Washington (SO/Austin, Texas) buried a 3-pointer that seemed to be the final dagger, but Xavier's Kelsee Singleton answered right back by nailing a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift her team to a 68-66 victory at the Convocation Center in the annual Crosstown Classic in front of a crowd of 1,047.

Dillard (12-6, 4-2 GCAC) was led by sophomore transfer Adriiana Jackson (SO/Houston, Texas) who finished with a game-high 22 points on 7-of-8 field goals, including 8-for-12 shots from the foul line. Jackson also grabbed seven boards and had two assists in the loss while teammates Shaelynn Moore (SO/Houston, Texas) and Keona Favis (SR/Shreveport, La.) both had 11 points apiece. Washington finished with nine points and nine rebounds in the loss.

As a team the Lady Bleu Devils shot nearly 60 percent in the second half but lost the rebound battle 42-35. Dillard scored a total of 23 baskets on 16 assists and made 19-of-28 free throws.

Xavier's Ireyon Keith led her team with 17 points in the victory as the Gold Nuggets remain in second place in the conference.

The Lady Bleu Devils return to action on Saturday, February 4 as they host Southern University at New Orleans in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Battlefield in Dent Hall.
