(New Orleans) The Bleu Devils led by 20 points at the break en route to a 88-72 victory over St. Thomas-Houston on Black Friday. The win marks the second straight victory for Dillard after losing three straight games prior to that.

The Celts gave Dillard (5-3, 0-0 GCAC) all they could handle as they cut the Bleu Devils' 20 point lead to just six points late in the second half due to a game-high 30 points from freshman Kennard Robinson, who buried 6-of-9 3-pointers in the loss. However, Dillard held on for their second victory in a row behind senior point guard Dennis Hightower (SR/Chicago, Ill.) who finished with a team-high 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field, including three 3-pointers. Hightower also added a game-high eight assists, produced three steals and grabbed two boards in the victory while teammates Demetric Austin (SR/Washington, D.C.) and sharpshooter Jessie Ward (SO/Maringouin, La.) both added 19 points apiece for Dillard. 2016 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year Montrey Thomas (SO/Shreveport, La.) finished with the games only double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 boards in 38 minutes of action.

The Bleu Devils return to action on Monday, November 28 as they host Texas College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. On January 13, 2016, the Steers defeated the Bleu Devils by two points at the Battlefield in Dent Hall.
