(Alexandria, La.) The Lady Bleu Devils used a 29-8 run in the opening quarter to help seal its sixth straight victory, this time over Louisiana State University-Alexandria at the Fort by the score of 90-65. With the win, Dillard advances to 6-0 on the season for the first time since 2009.

Dillard (6-0, 0-0 GCAC) led 54-27 at the half thanks to its high pressure defense and up-tempo offense. Sophomore Alyssa Washington (SO/Austin, Texas) led the team in scoring with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Washington nailed four 3-pointers and collected four rebounds while teammate sophomore transfer point guard Adriiana Jackson (SO/Houston, Texas) finished with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. Jackson was one rebound shy of a double-double and also added five assists and two steals in the victory. Her 19th steal of the season is good for third overall in the NAIA. Sharpshooter Shaelynn Moore (SO/Houston, Texas) was next on the list with 19 points as both Jackson and Moore went a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line. Moore nailed one three-pointer in the game which brought her to fifth in the nation in total three-pointers made with 17.

"It was a good victory but overall we still need to get better," said senior Keona Favis (SR/Shreveport, La.), who finished with the games only double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. "Offensively it was solid but we need to continue to work on defense."

As a team Dillard produced 10 steals in the game and forced 27 turnovers. The Lady Bleu Devils currently rank seventh in the nation in total steals with 67.

The Lady Bleu Devils return to action on Saturday, November 19 for an exhibition game as they travel to Lafayette to face the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
