(New Orleans) The Lady Bleu Devils are off to a hot start thanks to tough defense and efficient offensive play. In three games, Dillard has had victories of 56, five and 41 points, most recently an 87-46 win against Florida Memorial University at the Battlefield in Dent Hall. The 2015-16 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year Shaelynn Moore (SO/Houston, Texas) put on a show for Bleu Devil fans as she finished the home opener with a career-high 31 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field and nailed four 3-pointers in the win, and she was one rebound away from a double-double.

Dillard used a 22-3 run in the second quarter to surge passed the Lions of Florida Memorial University who struggled to find the basket all night, shooting a dismal 29 percent from the field while the Lady Bleu Devils shot 44 percent from the field. Dillard outrebounded its opponent 51 to 41 and forced a whopping 30 turnovers while committing 18 themselves. Sophomore Alyssa Washington (SO/Austin, Texas) nailed two 3-pointers, grabbed six boards and finished the game with 12 points while point guard Shantrell Lumar (SR/Baton Rouge, La.) and sophomore transfer point guard Adriiana Jackson (SO/Houston, Texas) both chipped in with nine points and five assists apiece.

Junior transfer forward Alexia McDonald (JR/Petal, Miss.) also finished with nine points and also produced a game-high five steals in her debut game at the Battlefield in Dent Hall. As a team Dillard ranks tenth and eleventh in the NAIA in scoring margin and rebound margin respectively.

The Lady Bleu Devils return to action on Thursday, November 10 as they host William Carey University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
