(New Orleans) The Lady Bleu Devils volleyball team dropped its second straight conference game of the week with a loss to crosstown rival Xavier University in four sets (25-18, 26-24, 23-25, 25-14) for Xavier's annual Pink Out game to raise breast cancer awareness. The two-game skid comes right after a three-game Gulf Coast Athletic Conference win streak for Dillard. However, Dillard was able to take a set from the Gold Nuggets for the first time since November 2013 and came within two points of stealing another set from the conference's top team.

Junior Sarah Boykin (JR/Spring, Texas) led the way for the Lady Bleu Devils (9-15, 5-4 GCAC) with a game-high 15 kills and also picked up five digs in the loss for Dillard while teammate and reigning GCAC Defender of the Week Demetria Horton (SR/Dallas, Texas) finished with a game-high 32 digs against her team's crosstown rivals.

Freshman Corneisja Harrison (FR/Cypress, Texas), reigning GCAC Attacker of the Week, finished with nine kills and 22 digs for the Lady Bleu Devils.

Juliana Tomasoni led the way for the Gold Nuggets with a team-high 14 kills. Xavier remains unbeaten in conference play.

On Saturday, October 15, the Lady Bleu Devils host Philander Smith College in the Battle of @hiphopprez (Old School vs. New School) at the Battlefield in Dent Hall. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
