(New Orleans, La.) After suffering two losses at the Georgetown College Habitat Classic, the Lady Bleu Devils stormed back and crushed Louisiana State University at Alexandria by the score of 69-46 at the Battlefield in Dent Hall. Subsequently, Dillard fell on the road to a tough Faulkner team by the score of 64-57.

In the game against the Generals of LSU-Alexandria, Dillard (2-3, 0-0 GCAC) was led by senior Alena Evans (SR/Las Vegas, Nev.) who finished with a game-high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field to go along with 7-of-10 from the free throw line.  The seven free throws made is a career high for the Las Vegas native. Evans also grabbed 10 boards, completing her first double-double of the year.

"This is my senior year and I'm going for player of the year," said Evans.

Evans not only leads the team in scoring with 17.8 points per game but also leads the team in rebounds per game with eight. She is just 83 points shy of reaching the 1,000 point club for Dillard, and she is 11 rebounds away from her 500th career collegiate rebound. She is currently eighth overall in the NAIA in total rebounds with 40.

In the game against Faulkner University, Evans produced 26 points on 12-of-16 shooting, but it wasn't enough as her team fell to the Eagles by the score of 64-57. She was the lone player to score in double-digits for Dillard as they fell to 2-3 on the year.

Dillard returns to action on Saturday, November 14 as they travel to Alabama to face Auburn University at Montgomery (RV). Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. In the last three contests with AUM, Dillard is 0-3 including a 67-66 loss at the Battlefield in Dent Hall last year when point guard Shantrell Lumar (JR/Baton Rouge, La.) had an opportunity to win the game at the buzzer for the Lady Bleu Devils but her left handed layup was too strong off the glass and bounced off the rim and out of the basket.
