Dillard played sluggishly during the first game, resulting in a variety of offensive and defensive errors. In game two, the women appeared more energetic and exchanged leads, early on, until a kill error by Cenquis Rockett shifted momentum to Mobile. With Heather Schierer serving, the Lady Rams went up 12-8 and never looked back, even averting a DU comeback late in the set to hold on for the win. Game three was much like the first, with service errors thwarting many offensive opportunities.
Jessica Goods-Morris led Dillard with eight kills and Paula Ogbevoen added seven. Yladrea Marshall finished with 24 digs and Danta Cobb had 22 assists.
With the win, Mobile (13-8, 6-0) extends its win streak to six and remains atop the GCAC. The Lady Bleu Devils (5-7, 2-3) are now in fifth place, tied with Belhaven in conference play.
Dillard will host Judson College tomorrow night, October 16, at 7 p.m., in Dent Gym, for a non-conference match.
