(New Orleans, La.)  The Dillard University men's basketball team hosted a "Bleu & White game" to showcase the new look Bleu Devils as DU President Dr. Walter Kimbrough along with DU Athletic Director Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes both headlined as guest coaches. However, the main purpose of this historic event at the Battlefield in Dent Hall was to gather canned goods, non-perishable food items or any item such used to feed and assist 150 families for Thanksgiving.  The goods were used as an entry fee to the contest, and a total of four huge boxes were collected from Dillard alumni, students, and fans from all across south Louisiana.

"We had a great turnout and it was for a great cause," said Dr. Kimbrough.  "It was a creative idea and we have something good to look forward to in our team."

Unfortunately for Dr. Kimbrough, his team (white) fell to Dr. Barnes' team (bleu) by the score of 92-90.  As a result, Dr. Barnes will keep her job as AD of the University.

"I enjoyed getting back into coaching, and we had an amazing turnout in the gym including local media," said Dr. Barnes.
