New Orleans, LA -The Lady Bleu Devils continued their improvement this weekend at the Gulf Coast Cross Country Stampede, hosted by the University of West Florida at the Pensacola Equestrian Center, participating in the 5K race.
Freshman Ebone' Pierce made the most significant improvement, posting a personal best of 28:44, for 94th place and nearly five minutes less than last week's time of 33:02 at the LSU Invitational.
Rounding out the top three finishers for the women were senior Jasmyne Fine, who dropped two minutes (28:56, 95th) and junior Tiffany Young followed in 96th place, in a time of 29:26. The women did not earn a team score. A total of 99 women competed in the event.
On Sunday, October 11, the Bleu Devils will be participating in the UNCF 22nd Annual Walk for Education, where they will compete against Xavier University - La. The event, which benefits both institutions, will be held at Audubon Park and Zoo Riverview Area. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the run scheduled for 9:00 a.m., and the walk at 9:05 a.m. For more information, log onto www.uncf.org.
