(New Orleans, La.) The Bleu Devils lost their ninth straight game after getting dismantled by the Panthers in the Battle of @Hiphopprez by the score of 98-66 at the Battlefield in Dent Hall. PSC put up a total of 55 points in the first half and led by 21 points at the break.
Junior Jarrain Jenkins (JR/White Castle, LA) was the lead man for Dillard with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. Jenkins also grabbed seven rebounds in the loss. Freshman point guard Corey Wells (FR/Marrero, LA) had a solid game and finished with 14 points and one assist in 23 minutes for the Bleu Devils. Sophomore JaCarre Crockett (SO/Monroe, LA) chipped in with 10 points, two steals and one assist.
As a team Dillard (2-15, 0-3 GCAC) shot 42 percent from the field while allowing its opponents to shoot 56 percent. PSC scored 22 points off turnovers and scored 19 fast break points including an arsenal of high-flying alley-oops and dunks. Ronald March and LaDon Carter led the way for PSC with 22 points and 20 points respectively.
On Monday, January 19, Dillard continues conference play and hosts Edward Waters College in GCAC action. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
