(New Orleans, La.)  Approximately 24 hours after their 10 point win over Harris-Stowe, Dillard came within two possessions of upsetting the eighth ranked team in the NAIA; however, Loyola was able to hold on to a 63-58 victory at the Battlefield in Dent Hall.

As a team Dillard (7-5, 0-0 GCAC) shot a dismal 29 percent from the field while their opponents shot 46 percent.  Junior Alena Evans (JR/Las Vegas, NV) led Dillard with 14 points, shooting 7-for-15 from the field.  Evans also collected seven boards and one steal in just 25 minutes of action.  Senior transfer Ciara Morgan (SR/Springfield, IL) was one point and one rebound shy of a double-double as she finished with nine points, nine rebounds, three assists and one block in 30 minutes.

Dillard  outscored Loyola 22-13 on points off turnovers, but the Wolf Pack scored 15 fast break points to just eight for the Lady Bleu Devils.

On Saturday, January 3, Dillard travels to Alabama for its first conference game of the season as they face Talladega College in GCAC action.
