(Alexandria, La.)  Dillard was able to match their win total from all of last season with a victory over Louisiana State University at Alexandria by the score of 77-62 at the LSU-A Fitness Center.  The contest was the inaugural game for the basketball program at LSU-A.

Dillard (3-2, 0-0 GCAC) was led by sophomore guard Shantrell Lumar (SO/Baton Rouge, LA) who finished with 18 points, nailing 14-of-16 free throws.  Lumar also had six assists, five boards and three steals in the victory.  She also played the entire 40 minutes of the ball game.

"My teammates helped us to get the victory today," said Lumar.  "It's good that we matched our win total from last year, and I'm humbled by the experience."

"Praise God," said Dillard head coach Norbert Rome.  "All the glory goes to God."

For the game, Dillard shot 49 percent from the field while holding the Lady Generals to 31 percent.  Junior transfer Rashida Ademosu (JR/Nashville, TN) had a solid game for Dillard as she finished with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in the contest.  Senior transfer Ciara Morgan (SR/Springfield, IL) had a strong game and a near double-double with 14 points, nine boards, three assists, three steals, two blocks and seven turnovers.

Dillard hosts Wiley College on Saturday, November 15 for the annual Homecoming game.  Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
