Men's Cross Country - Sun, Sep. 27, 2009
New Orleans, LA -Dillard's cross country teams showed signs of improvement this weekend at the LSU Invitational, held in Baton Rouge at Highland Road Park.  The men tackled their first eight kilometer course and the women participated in the 5K event.

Senior Anthony Hingle was the top Bleu Devil finisher with a time of 32:33.28, for 78th place out of 112 runners.

"The men did a great job tackling a longer course compared to the two previous courses," said head coach Bobby Williams.  "With consistent practice and harder work I believe we can make some significant strides just in time for the conference meet in November."

Rounding out the top three finishers were freshman Byron Miles (93rd place, 35:17.84) and sophomore Marcel Williams (99th place, 36:35.66) .  As a team, the men finished 13th out of 13.

The Gulf Coast Stampede is next up on the cross country schedule.  The event will be hosted by the University of West Florida next Saturday, October 3, at the Pensacola (FL) Equestrian Center.  Race time is 8 a.m.
