(New Orleans, La.)  With a time of 23:57.28, Dillard junior Dominique Hardin (JR/Apple Valley, CA) finished 14th overall out of 34 runners at the 2014 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships at City Park.

As a team Dillard finished fourth overall out of five teams with a total time of 2:08:24.90.  Freshman Ebony Darling (FR/DeSoto, TX) finished next (19th) for Dillard with a time of 25:00.33.

With about 50 meters to go, Hardin trailed Edward Waters' Seanique Hubbard by a slim margin.  Hardin then kicked and passed White at the very end, defeating her by .10 of a second.

"For the duration of the race, I was focusing on making the goal time my coach had set for me," said Hardin.  "During the last 50 meters I was thinking I have to pass her because there is really no excuse as to why I can't beat her.  I just wanted to finish with a fight and avoid the 'could have, should have but didn't' feeling, so I kicked until the end."

The Lady Bleu Devils are finished with cross country season and will compete in their first track and field meet of the academic year in January.
