New Orleans, LA -Dillard's cross country teams showed signs of improvement this weekend at the LSU Invitational, held in Baton Rouge at Highland Road Park. The men tackled their first eight kilometer course and the women participated in the 5K event.
Senior Jasmyne Fine came in at 30:29.62 to finish 107th out of 115 for the women's team.
"Overall, it was a great improvement from last week for both teams especially the women," said head coach Bobby Williams. "The women dropped an average of about four minutes from their times on last weekend. We are definitely improving and getting stronger."
Rounding out the top three finishers for the Lady Bleu Devils were junior Neshara Boyd (109th, 32:55.90) and freshman Ebone' Pierce (110th, 33:02.70). As a team, the women finished 16th out of 16.
The Gulf Coast Stampede is next up on the cross country schedule. The event will be hosted by the University of West Florida next Saturday, October 3, at the Pensacola (FL) Equestrian Center. Race time is 7:30 a.m.
