This week, Dillard University nearly swept weekly conference honors by producing three of the four winners.  DU track stars junior Sean Wilson (JR/New Orleans, LA) and freshman Kaitlyn Fortuna (FR/New Orleans, LA) of New Orleans, La. along with senior Emory Nash (SR/Ft. Worth, TX) of Ft. Worth, Tx. were selected as GCAC Track Athletes of the Week and co-DU Athletes of the Week for the dates of March 31-April 6.

Wilson was named GCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row after his performance at the 2014 Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge in which he participated in a total of three events.  He finished seventh overall in the Men's Shot Put with a mark of 12.59, seventh in the Men's Discus Throw with a mark of 35.43 and sixth in the Men's Javelin Throw with a mark of 33.04.

His teammate Nash was named GCAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week also for the second week in a row for his second place finish in the Men's 800 Meter Run in the same meet, posting a time of 1:55.02.  In a field of 12 total athletes, Nash defeated runners from NCAA D1 SWAC schools such as Grambling and Southern.

Furthermore, Fortuna was named GCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week after her fantastic performance at the Pelican Relays.  Her 4x100 Meter Relay team finished third overall with a time of 47.28.  Individually, Fortuna finished fifth out of 23 runners in the Women's 200 Meter Dash, posting a time of 25.18.  Unfortunately, she missed the mark to qualify for NAIA Nationals in the 200 Meter by .9 seconds.

Fortuna went on to finish sixth overall out of 17 runners in the Women's 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.35.
