(New Orleans) Dillard suffered its ninth straight loss by falling to Voorhees College by the score of 70-69 at the Battlefield in Dent Hall.
The Bleu Devils (4-10, 0-8 GCAC) led by two points after sophomore Jarrain Jenkins gently laid the ball off the glass and in the rim with about 30 seconds to go, but Voorhees's Courtney Warren came back down the court and calmly buried the game winning three pointer from "NBA range" with 0.6 seconds left http://instagram.com/p/kLSBBJsrlI/ in a game that produced 18 lead changes throughout the contest.
Jenkins finished with a team-high 22 points and grabbed eight boards, dished out three assists and had one steal in 40 minutes of action for Dillard, while redshirt freshman Houston Chatman finished with 14 points, two boards and six assists in 30 minutes.
Despite the loss, Dillard dominated the battle of the boards with 40 compared to 26 for the Tigers. Dillard also dished out 21 assists to only eight for Voorhees.
Bleu Devil senior Lance Theard chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds in 27 minutes.
The Bleu Devils continue conference play as they travel to Jackson on Saturday, February 15 to face Tougaloo College. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
