(Jackson, MS)  Dillard dropped its eighth straight game with a loss to Belhaven University by the score of 62-52 in Jackson.

Dillard junior Kierrariel Mitchell led Dillard (0-8, 0-2 GCAC) and produced a double-double for the game finishing with 11 points and 10 boards, shooting 5-for-11 from the field.  Junior Keylantra Taylor chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes.

Both teams shot just under 36 percent from the field for the game, but the Blazers made more plays down the stretch to close out the game.

"We have to work on our offensive execution towards the end of the game," said Coach Norbert Rome.  "Our inability to effectively execute our sets in the ends of games is really hurting us."

Freshman Jalisa Swift assisted the Lady Bleu Devils with seven points, four boards, three assists, one block and one steal in 26 minutes of action.

The Lady Bleu Devils return to conference play and face Fisk University on Saturday, January 18 at 3:00 p.m. at the Battlefield in Dent Hall.
