(Jacksonville, FL)  Dillard dropped its second conference game in a row with a loss to Edward Waters College by the score of 80-63 in Jacksonville.

Dillard (4-3, 0-2 GCAC) trailed by 11 at the half due to an early aerial assault by the Tigers.  Edward Waters nailed five three pointers in the first half, then continued the onslaught with five more three pointers in the second half.

The Bleu Devils were once upon a time number one in the entire NAIA in three point field goal percentage (defense), allowing opponents to shoot less than 20 percent from behind the arc.  However, since conference started, they have not been able to stop opposing teams from shooting a high percentage from behind the arc.  Talladega shot 61 percent from behind the arc (14-for-23) in the game prior to, while Edward Waters shot 63 percent from behind the arc (10-for-16).

Dillard senior Lance Theard had a solid game and led the Bleu Devils with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting.  Theard also grabbed seven boards and had two steals in 24 minutes of action.  Sophomore Houston Chatman had a rather quiet game, finishing with only seven points and six boards as he went 3-for-11 from the field.

Sophomore Jarrain Jenkins chipped in with eight points, two boards and one assist in 17 minutes.

The Bleu Devils take a break from conference play and face Belhaven University on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Jackson.
