(Mobile, AL)  Dillard nearly pulled off a miracle upset over NCAA opponent University of South Alabama thanks to a game-high 35 points from sophomore Tyrone Williams, but it wasn't enough as USA defeated the Bleu Devils by the score of 82-73 at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, AL.  Williams was simply unstoppable from the field, nailing 15-of-19 shots.

The Bleu Devils (3-1, 0-0 GCAC) led 45-44 after freshman Kris Allmon buried a three pointer, but the Jaguars inside presence was much too dominant for Dillard down the stretch.

"We ran what we wanted to run," said head coach Bernard Griffith.  "We are improving every day."

Sophomore Jarrain Jenkins chipped in with 12 points, four boards and two assists, while senior point guard Jordan Kilson finished with six points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block in 32 minutes.

For the Jaguars, 6'7" senior center Augustine Rubit finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes of action.

The Bleu Devils return hom on Saturday, January 18 as they host Fisk University in the Battlefield at Dent Hall Gymnasium for conference play.  Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
