(Baton Rouge)  The Jaguars took care of business at home by defeating Dillard by the score of 107-64 at the F.G. Clark Activity Center on the campus of Southern University.  Southern forced Dillard into 17 turnovers while only committing six themselves.

The Bleu Devils (3-1, 0-0 GCAC) were led by sophomore Jarrain Jenkins who had 15 points, shooting 6-for-16 from the field and 1-for-3 from downtown in 31 minutes of action.  The reigning GCAC Freshman of the Year also grabbed four rebounds, had three assist and one steal in the loss.

Dillard was down by the score of 47-27 at the half and couldn't recover; giving up 60 second half points to the Jags on 51 percent shooting for the game.

Senior Jeremy Rixner finished with nine points, nine boards, two blocks, one assist and one steal for Dillard.

For Southern, senior Yondarius Johnson had a game-high 20 points, hitting 8-of-14 shots from the field, and senior Malcolm Miller chipped in with 16 points on the night.

The Jags produced 21 assists for the game while Dillard had 13.

The Bleu Devils return home on Saturday, January 18 as they host Fisk University in the Battlefield at Dent Hall Gymnasium for conference play.  Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
