The NAIA and Dillard athletics has partnered with schools in New Orleans to spread the message about character.
Dillard - Fri, Dec. 6, 2013

(New Orleans)  The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its 2012-13 NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Award winners, and Dillard University made the prestigious list for the sixth consecutive year.  Dillard has achieved this particular NAIA award every year since the existence of the Champions of Character scorecard.

The Champions of Character program continues to grow and impact people throughout our nation as a result of the passion and commitment of NAIA member institutions like Dillard University.  The program also creates an environment in which every NAIA student-athlete, coach, official and spectator is committed to the true spirit of competition through the five tenets: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

Furthermore, the Lady Bleu Devils basketball team traveled to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Charter School for Science and Technology to spread the message about the NAIA's "Live 5" Champions of Character program.

"We spoke to about 25 female students-athletes who are involved sports like volleyball, track, flag football and basketball," said first year Head Coach Norbert Rome.  "The kids were very receptive and very engaging, and I felt like I did something positive and put some good energy out there."
