(New Orleans)  The Blazers used a 44 point second half to all but erase a huge deficit, but it wasn't enough as Dillard held on for the 65-63 victory in the Battlefield.

Sophomore Houston Chatman led the Bleu Devils with 14 points, eight boards, three assists and one steal in 27 minutes of action, meanwhile sophomore Tyrone Williams had a strong game with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal on the night.

Senior Chris Cofield led the Blazers with 14 points, five boards, two assists and two steals.

Dillard began the game on an 11-0 run and led 33-19 at the half, but Belhaven had a strong second half and outscored the Bleu Devils 44-32.

In the waning moments of the ball game, Belhaven had two chances to tie directly under the basket, but missed on both opportunities due to tough interior defense from freshman Robert Pratt and sophomore Jarrain Jenkins.

The Bleu Devils continue regular season play on Saturday, November 16 as they host Wiley College at 5:00 p.m. at the Battlefield in Dent Hall for Homecoming.
