(New Orleans) Dillard University's track and field team participated in a free food drive that led hundreds of people from the local community to Next Level Church to take advantage of this generous effort.

"We do this drive about twice a month," said track and field head coach Bobby Williams.  "I wanted to give my athletes the opportunity to see how it feels to give at this capacity."

Williams is also the pastor at the Next Level Church.  He is preparing his track team as they travel to Marion, Indiana, for the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship on Tuesday.  Competition begins on Thursday, May 23 and continues until Saturday, May 25 on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.

"It was nice for the team to do it," said team captain Darius Neely.  "It showed me how people are poor in our own country considering this is supposed to be the land of the free and equal opportunity."
