Dillard University finished in first place in the Men's 4x100 Meter Relay at the recent Louisiana Classics track meet on the campus of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.  The group, comprised of sophomores Darius Neely, Tobyus Simmons, Kermit Buggage and junior Wendell Collins, qualified for nationals with a time of 41.95.

In the Men's 110 Meter Hurdles, senior Runell King finished in ninth place with a time of 15.59.  Fellow hurdler sophomore Sean Wilson, who usually runs with King, did not participate in this meet.

After barely missing the mark last week, the University's Men's 4x400 Meter Relay Team also qualified for nationals.  The team, comprised of Jones, Neely, Buggage and Ezzard, posted a time of 3:16.04 and finished in second place in the 4x400 Meter Relay.

A total of six Dillard runners participated in the Men's 100 Meter Dash, and Simmons led the way for the Bleu Devils as he finished eleventh with a time of 10.84.  Neely was closely behind Simmons and finished in thirteenth place with a time of 10.92.   Buggage ended up in eighteenth place with a time of 11.05, and sophomore Friday George finished in twenty-eighth place, posting a time of 10.90.

In the Men's 200 Meter Dash, Ezzard led the way for Dillard with an eighth place finish out of 35 runners, posting a time of 22.40, and Neely finished in ninth place with a time of 22.42.  Simmons crossed the finish line shortly after with a time of 22.46 which was good enough for eleventh place, and Buggage finished thirteenth with a time of 22.65.

Junior Emory Nash participated in the Men's 800 Meter Run and finished fifth overall with a time of 1:58.34, just missing the mark for nationals.
