The Bleu Devils have been plagued with injuries as of late, and it was clearly evident in their 68-97 loss to Philander Smith College, the 24th ranked team in the country.  Dillard was outscored 39-0 in terms of bench points and were crushed on the boards 21-38.

Dillard (2-18 overall, 1-10 GCAC) was led by freshman Jarrain Jenkins who finished with a game-high 29 points and picked up four boards, shooting 10-for-20 from the field and going 6-for-8 from the charity stripe.  Jenkins also hit 3-of-6 three pointers on the night that his team produced 18 turnovers.

The Bleu Devils basketball team tried its best to maintain with an athletic Philander Smith team as they trailed 30-43 at the half, but the Panthers lit the nets on fire as they outscored Dillard 54-38 in the second half.

Sophomore Jordan Kilson, ranked fourth in the NAIA in steals per game with 2.89, finished with four points, ten assists and six steals in 38 minutes of action.

On Saturday, February 16, Dillard continues conference play as they travel to Jackson, Ms. to face Tougaloo College.  Tip-off is at 5:00 p.m.
