New Orleans, LA -- The fifth annual Tom Dent Tennis Tournament will be held Memorial Day weekend (May 22-24) on the Dillard University courts. New Orleans born Tom Dent was a gift writer and published author. He also competed in tournaments throughout the South.  

It was Dent's love for tennis that inspired his close friends to hold a tournament in his memory with all proceeds going to the Tom Dent Memorial Fund.   Tournament hosts are the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation and Dillard University.  Tournament director is Lloyd Dillon who said events include Men's and Women's singles and doubles. Dillon said the matches will begin at 5:30 pm Friday, May 22, following a welcome reception and dedication of twelve benches.
