New Orleans, LA -- Athletic Director/Head Coach Kiki Baker Barnes announces its first 09-10 signee, Quanessa Baptiste. Quanessa, a 6-0 guard/forward, helped lead the LSUE Lady Bengals to a 19-12 finish this season and the district finals.
Batiste was the second leading scorer averaging 15. 9 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game. Batiste helped her team to end the season ranked 20th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II polls.
Batiste prepped at Avoyelles High School where she played for Coach Alyssa Lemoine. She led her team to the state playoffs in 2004 and 2007. As a senior, she averaged 22.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 6 steals enroute to being named All-District, All-Parish, All-Central Louisiana, and All-State.
"Quanessa will add athleticism and quickness to our team," said Barnes. Batiste is a native of Mansura, LA.
