The Wolfpack shot 62 percent in the first half on their way to an 80-73 victory over the Bleu Devils.
Freshman Jarrain Jenkins finished with a team-high 25 points, and also collected five boards and two assists in 40 minutes of action for Dillard (1-6 overall, 0-0 GCAC). Freshman Jaquan Green hit 6-of-7 shots from the field and finished with 16 points, two assists and one steal in just 25 minutes of action.
Dillard struggled to get to the line in the first half as they shot 0-for-3 from the charity stripe, while their opponents hit 5-of-11 free throws in the first half. The Bleu Devils trailed by nine points at halftime, and were able to outscore Loyola 42-38 in the second half, but the effort wasn't enough because they had trouble stopping the Wolfpack's Robert Lovaglio, who finished with a game-high 33 points and added six boards, two steals, one assist and seven turnovers in 36 minutes of action. Lovaglio also hit 7-of-11 free throws on the night for Loyola.
Sophomore Jordan Kilson finished with two points, eight assists, and two steals in 40 minutes of action. Kilson is currently ranked third in the nation with 3.33 steals per game.
For the game, the Bleu Devils shot 54 percent from the field and the Wolfpack shot 53 percent, but Dillard only shot ten free throws throughout the entire game while the home team enjoyed 24 shots from the line. Dillard was whistled for 17 fouls while Loyola was whistled for only eight.
On Monday, December 17, the Bleu Devils travel to Alabama to face Spring Hill College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
