Kansas City, MO - Jazzmin Smith was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2012 Division I Women's Basketball All-American team for the second year in a row. Players were selected by the All-America committee.

Smith, a junior forward from Lake Charles, LA, ranked at the top in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) in field goal percentage (.474), scoring (341), and total rebounds (174). She averaged 14.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals leading the Lady Bleu Devils to a tie for third place in the GCAC.

Smith, who reached 1000 points and 500 rebounds in Dillard's 69-64 win against Tougaloo College, is making her second appearance on the honorable mention team. She is the second player since Hurricane Katrina to receive this honor (Sandra Nweke, 2007-2008).

Other individuals receiving this honor from the GCAC include: Kelly Stewart of Southern University at New Orleans (La.), Ebony Richardson of Talladega College (Al.), Victoria Jones of Tougaloo College (Miss.), and Keldra Hall of Xavier University (La.).
