(New Orleans) Dillard University Athletic Director and Head Women's Basketball Coach Kiki Baker-Barnes took time out to share her thoughts, answer questions and give much needed knowledge about college athletics and being a student/athlete with students from McDonough #42 Elementary Charter School.

Most of the students in attendance were anxious to share the fact that they would someday like to attend Dillard University, play basketball at Dillard University and eventually be a professional athlete. It was Coach Barnes who challenged each and every one of them to be a student in the classroom first and the athletics part of things will take care of itself. "If you handle your business in the classroom, you can eventually go to college for free because you can earn a scholarship," said Coach Barnes. "You have so many more options when you put education first."

The group of students was on a campus tour of Dillard University, as a possible destination for higher-learning for those interested in attending following high school.
