
(Nashville, TN) Dillard Lady Bleu Devils' Jessica Goods-Morris and one-time GCAC Volleyball Player of the Week Monica Barros De Alcantara were both voted Volleyball All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference by the league's coaches in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday night.
Goods-Morris and Barros De Alcantara led the Lady Bleu Devils to a 15-10 overall record and 7-3 record in conference play, second to only Xavier, GCAC Conference Regular Season Champions.
Goods-Morris, a 6-1 Junior Middle Blocker from Houston Texas, led the GCAC Conference in blocks, averaging 1.4 per game. Goods-Morris finished the regular season with a total of 113 blocks. Jessica also led the Bleu Devils with 163 kills and had a 39% kill success rate. Goods-Morris had a monster game versus undefeated and NAIA nationally ranked Spring Hill College on September 13th, tallying 14 kills and 9 blocks.
Barros De Alcantara, a Senior Right Setter from Brasilia, Brazil, averaged 1.41 kills and 2.2 assists for the Lady Bleu Devils during the regular season. Barros De Alcantara also had a 42% success rate on her kill shots. Monica tallied 11 kills, 19 assists and 2 aces in a 3-0 victory over Southern University at New Orleans back in October.
The Lady Bleu Devils will open the GCAC Volleyball Conference Tournament as the number two seed vs. Philander-Smith College on Thursday at 12:00p.m. in Nashville, Tennessee on the campus of tournament host Fisk University.
