NEW ORLEANS - As part of its month-long drive to promote breast cancer awareness, the Lady Blue Devils volleyball team is asking all of its fans to wear pink to the game against the Grambling State University Lady Tigers at 7 pm Tuesday at Dent Hall.
"This issue is close to my heart," said head volleyball coach Yolanda Brown. "I lost my sister to breast cancer, and the team joins me in the desire to increase the awareness."
Each Monday and Tuesday from 10 am to 3 pm through the rest of October, members of the volleyball team will be assembled on Dillard's Kabacoff Plaza handing out information on breast cancer prevention and seeking pledges to the American Cancer Society. All donors receive a "DU BLEU/DU PINK" (pronounced do blue/do pink) bracelet and have their names placed on the pledge wall during Tuesday's game. Donations may also be made at the game.
For more information, contact Coach Yolanda Brown at (504) 816-4154.
