New Orleans, LA - The #1 seeded Dillard Lady Bleu Devils won their first GCAC conference championship on Saturday November 13, 2010. In the quarter finals, the Lady Bleu Devils defeated Edward Waters (25-10, 25-10, 25-11) to advance to the semi-final match. Since the tournament was a double-elimination tournament, teams had to lose two games before they would be eliminated from the tournament. As a result, Dillard played SUNO in the semi-finals and the finals. The Lady Bleu Devils defeated the SUNO Lady Knights in three sets in the semi-final match. However, the Lady Knights were a force to be reckoned with for the finals. The Lady Knights won the first two matches of the final game. The Lady Bleu Devils regrouped and fought back to win the final 3 games.

This is the first conference championship in the 12 year history of the women's volleyball program which began in 1999 and the first conference championship of all Dillard athletics programs since Hurricane Katrina. The victory also marks the programs first automatic berth and appearance at the NAIA National Tournament.
