New Orleans, LA -- The Dillard volleyball team began tournament  play with a 3-0 (25-20,25-13,25-22) victory over GCAC conference opponent, Belhaven  Lady Blazers on Friday, September 26, 2008 in Jackson, MS. 

The Lady Blue Devils victory against the Lady Blazers is the first against  a GCAC opponent since the program was reinstated after Hurricane Katrina. Cage led the team with 14 kills and 10 digs. Cobb led all players with 28 assists, while  Banikah Jackson  led the team defense with 15 digs. The Lady Blue Devils suffered losses to Millsaps College (26-24,25-10,25-12), Lambuth University (25-21,25-18,25-12) and Willey College (25-16,15-18,19-25,25-18) in the remainder of the tournament.

The Lady Blue Devils will return to action Saturday, October 4, 2008 when they face   the Concordia Lady Hornets, at Dent Hall Gymnasium. The match is set to begin at 2:00 pm.  Follow the Lady Blue Devils at www.dillardlbuedevils.com .
