New Orleans, LA - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently named Dillard University sophomore Jessica Goods-Morris to its 2009 NAIA All-Midsouth Region volleyball team, adding to her list of first-year honors in her first season as a Lady Bleu Devil.

Playing the middle blocker position, Goods-Morris finished the 2009 campaign leading both the Lady Bleu Devils and the GCAC, averaging 1.1 per set, and a total of 77.  On offense, she was just as capable, pacing Dillard with 181 kills for a 2.5 average per set.

A native of Missouri City, Texas (Ft. Bend Marshall H.S.), Goods-Morris transferred from Texas Southern University (Houston, TX) where she earned second team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors and was one of the top blockers as a freshman, helping TSU to a 3.13 average to lead the SWAC in 2008.

Goods-Morris is majoring in education and aspires to be a volleyball coach and college professor.
