Shreveport, LA - Winning a championship is never easy, but LSU-Shreveport made it look so with a 97-66 thrashing of the Dillard Bleu Devils (4-22, 1-17), giving the Pilots (24-4, 14-3) the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular season title Thursday night, at The Dock. 
 

In the first half, LSUS took a 12-9 lead at 14:12 and, later, stretched the lead to 27-18 at 8:17.  The Pilots never looked back.  The halftime score was 48-32.

James Burkes led Dillard with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Autrail Manning with 12 points and five assists.  As a team, the Bleu Devils went 21-30 for 70 percent shooting from the free throw line.

LSUS was led by Derrick Parker's double-double of 21 points and ten rebounds.  Other Pilots in double digits were John Anthony Anglin, who went 6-10 from three-point land for 19 points, Ernie Pickens had 12 points and Greg Shyne chipped in 10.

To start GCAC Tournament action, Dillard will face the Badgers of Spring Hill (13-13, 7-10) in a play-in game on Tuesday, March 2.  Game time was unavailable at press time.
