The Lady Bleu Devils (8-14, 1-11) shot their second worst field goal percentage of the season, .237, in a 50-41 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference loss at the University of Mobile (13-9, 5-7), Monday night. 

 

Guylene Nsiewe and Jazzmin Smith each scored 10 points and combined for 14 rebounds in the losing effort.  True freshman J'Ashala Haynes matched her career-high of 10 boards for the Lady Bleu Devils.

For the Lady Rams, Alice Honnery finished with six points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks to mark a new Mobile single-season record of 99 blocks.  On the scoring side, Morgan Melancon collected 17 points and Davina Jefferson added 11.

Last Saturday, the Dillard women fell 56-47 to the Lady Blazers of Belhaven (13-10, 4-8) at Rugg Arena, in Jackson, Miss.  Smith led DU with 12 points and eight rebounds. 

Jira Williams scored 19 points and Octavia Mullins had 14 points, along with 10 rebounds, to lead Belhaven.   As a team, the Lady Blazers out-rebounded DU 51-33, with 27 coming on defense.

Next up for the Lady Bleu Devils is the Loyola Wolfpack, which they host this Thursday, February 11, at Dent, at 5:30 p.m.  The Wolfpack (14-8, 8-4), is ranked fourth in the GCAC.
