The women played a thrilling third game, posting their highest match score of the year for a 32-30 victory. Junior middle blocker Cenquis Rockett led Dillard with 12 kills and sophomore middle blocker Jessica Goods-Morris added 11, along with five blocks. Senior right side hitter Banikah Jackson led defensively with 26 digs, followed by junior setter Danta Cobb with 20 and 31 set assists.
Between games two and three, Jackson, along with senior outside hitter Keisha Smoke closed out their careers with head coach Yolanda Brown presenting each player with a special gift, balloons and flowers.
The Lady Bleu Devils (5-5, 9-11) are still tied for third place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference with Belhaven College (5-5, 17-18), which lost to first place and Mobile (10-0, 20-11) on Thursday. Loyola is in second place with a league record of 7-3 and 17-14, overall.
Dillard will next play in the GCAC Volleyball Championship, hosted by Mobile, November 13-14.
